You are not Behind

All the dishes have been put away. Leftovers packed in containers. Pies covered with plastic wrap just waiting to be enjoyed the next day.

Maybe before you had even put away the last load of dishes yesterday the Black Friday ads started flooding your phone. Maybe you started to have a small, ache in your belly. Am I behind?

The world wants us to rush. The Halloween costumes were barely off the kids before the holiday mad dash began. Thanksgiving is now an after thought between Halloween and Christmas. A few weeks into January, stores will start posting their spring collections even though the average person is still in winter coats and boots.

Even though this part of the year is busy, you're allowed to move at your own pace. You do not have to follow anyone else's plan but your own. Shop if you want today, but if your eyes start to glaze over and your chest feels tight with overwhelm, just take a break.

Put one hand over your belly and one over your heart. Tune in. What's your body trying to tell you? Move at that pace.

You are not behind in your holiday prep or gift buying or decorating. You are not behind on any of it. Give yourself permission to ease into the holiday season without the rush.
