January Check-In

I can't believe it's taken me this long to write my first post of the new year. Things have been off to a busy start between getting the kids back to school, teaching yoga, and trying to add something exciting to this website (stay tuned!).

But, I did want to take some time to share what my intentions are for the year and how I'm taking aligned action towards those intentions.

First off, my overarching word of the year is aligned.

My intention for 2023 is to continue to grow as a teacher, parent, wife, and friend. I intend to do small things with great love and to let myself be guided by lovingkindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity. I intend to lean into my dharma and let it permeate all the roles I play in life.

This year, I am breaking down my intention into actionable aligned steps. Here are my focuses for January:

-a cold shower a day

-dry January

-read at least one book this month

-connect with at least one friend in real life

-practice gratitude daily

-continue to get on my mat daily

As January winds down, I'm really happy with the progress I've made towards my focuses and for the month. I'm almost complete with dry January and a cold shower a day really does keep the doctor away! I'm on my second book of the month and have gotten together with not one but two friends in real life this month. My journal has daily gratitude lists, and my practice is still such a gift.

As February gets closer, I want to continue creating a monthly focus and see where this new habit can take me.

I would love to know how you're doing with your intentions for the New Year!
